The Mannheim Weihnachtsmarkt

Jeff and I wandered around the booths, looking for gifts and trying the food. This Christmas market wasn't as crowded as the Heidelberg one.

Lots of pretty lights at night! Santa Claus is sampling the Glühwein -- hot red wine with a mix of cinnamon and other spices. Perfect for the cold.

It doesn't look as cold as our Christmas market was. I felt sorry for the outdoor vendors. The pictures are very interesting when enlarged.

Ruth,
I'd love to visit your Christmas market--I bet there are many similarities. The weihnachtsmarkts are one of the seasonal events in Germany that we'll miss the most in the US.
