Dental phobias

Today I've been obsessing over a hard lump that appeared in my upper gum two days ago--worrying that I might need a root canal, concerned that I have an abcess the dentist will have to dig out with shiny sharpened tools, occasionally wondering "what if it's something even worse?" I have to wait until tomorrow (Monday) to call the dentist my friends in Germany have recommended. In the meantime, I want to stop worrying. I want to quit whining and trust in God's care for me regardless of the outcome. So I'm going to meditate on this verse:

For I know that my Redeemer lives...this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God...How my heart yearns within me! Job 19:25-27

ouch dentists .. my least favourite places ...especially in a foreign country! As people they are lovely - our pastor's wife is one (grin) but but but ...

praying it all works out ok. And that you FEEL safe in HIS loving hands.

I almost wrote about my own dental phobia on my blog today! I have a dentist appointment later this afternoon, and the fear of it has paralyzed me today. I'm still in my jammies and it's 1:15 in the afternoon. I've done nothing but sit in front of the computer all day long! (it's my favortite escape.) So, I sympathize completely. To make matters worse I don't get to even choose my dentist with our dental plan. I'm stuck with a dentist I don't really like. ugh! {{{Hugs}}} to you, because I know how hard it is.
