Frankfurt Book Fair 2009

I'm in Germany visiting our oldest daughter, who lives in downtown Heidelberg. Earlier this week, I drove to the Frankfurt Book Fair and spent the day. My favorite part of the visit: watching the exhibitions put on by China, the guest of honor for 2009.

This dancer changed masks about fifteen times, I kid you not!

Lion dancers -- One guy for the back section of the lion, another for the front section. Talk about coordination.

This man played beautifully. A simple stringed instrument, but quite a range of sounds.

Hello Laurie,
I wish you a nice trip visiting your daughter.
You always share amused photos and videos. I remember some bells with beautiful sounds in your blog and i have in mind to do some simple litle quilt with bells, maybe for Christmas. Now i have a lot of work and i can´t find time to sew.

Until april i could go to the Basilica of the Pilar (also cathedral)walking 20 minutes. Since i moved the distance is 6 or 7 km.
Have a nice week end

My kids are entranced by the dragons in China, the really long ones you might associate with Chinese New Year parades. My oldest son said a while ago he really wanted to go to China. we wondered, why, it was out of the blue. To see the dragons he said! I told him we could go to the Chinese New Year festivals and see them in Chicago. It is a lot closer than China.

Oh, wonderful. I was able to see a lot of action in the tent, but there were no performance.
