One of my daughters was over there at the time (she and her husband live in Richmond VA, and he's Kenyan) to celebrate holidays with his family. They remained safe and are now back in the states. Even though it was a bit unsettling for them and their friends/family, I think they also value being there at the time.Cotton Wool & Silkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10947104726424339931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16860768.post-32575445014877743062008-01-06T02:44:00.000+01:002008-01-06T02:44:00.000+01:00I spent time this spring in Eldoret, Kenya. This is...I spent time this spring in Eldoret, Kenya. This is a particualerly hard hit area for violence right now. An American doctor from our church and his wife are there, they have lived there for 8 years and run an exchange program between the hospital in Eldoret and Indiana Univ. Med School. The American staff and students were evacuated right away, the Europeans later. They have chosen to stay, as they feel the problems are not with the foreigners, but between tribes and countrymen. They say they are safe and they are continuing work at the hospital as best as they can given food, fuel, medical shortages.Judy in Indianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10692193695672376989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16860768.post-3456486245004136002008-01-02T16:19:00.000+01:002008-01-02T16:19:00.000+01:00Good reminders to continue to pray for peace and t...Good reminders to continue to pray for peace and the leaders of our countries.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15892804871759397018noreply@blogger.com
